Role: Senior Tutor (Summer School)

We are hiring university lecturers and tutors in the following subjects:


* English Literature

* Classics

* International Business (particularly Finance and Fintech)


Company Description:

The Oxford Exchange is a UK nonprofit and leading provider of education and training programmes in Oxford and Cambridge for students, schools, and institutions around the world, including US universities, and military units.

We are an academically-minded organisation and we also conduct research and write policy papers advising world governments.


We offer 2-week intensive courses - in residence - every summer in an Oxford or Cambridge University college.

Our programmes are designed to provide pre-university students, university students, and/or professionals with an immersive and experiential learning experience to help them develop and build the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen field.


* Compensation: £800.

00 - £1,250.

00+ per week per course (based on minimum contact hours).

We also pay for preparation time.

We adjust slightly if the Tutor requires room and board in the Oxford college.

Lecturers will join our team in Oxford to deliver a course(s) to 1) University students from the USA; and/or 2) Pre-university students (cohort age groups of 16-18 and 13-15).


The successful candidate will be responsible for co-developing and delivering lectures, running seminars, and offering one-to-one tutorials to adult students and pre-university students enroled in our programme.


This is a flexible role that requires 15-20 contact hours per week in 1-2 week segments per cohort session.

We offer contracts for 20-40 teaching hours (+ paid prep and training time) per cohort session.

We have 6 different cohorts from 1 July to - 16 August 2024.

Most classes are small have between 4 and 12 students.

Qualifications:

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

* Must have a current or prior relationship with Oxford University or Cambridge University (alumni, teaching role, etc), a qualification from Oxford University or Cambridge University;

* Strong knowledge of the subject at an Oxbridge undergraduate level;

* Experience in or strong desire to learn co-lecturing and running interactive seminars at the university level;

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;

* Ability to work on-site at an Oxford University college.


Desirable

* We encourage applications from current students and tutors at Oxford;

* Applicants who are located in Oxford, or able to commute to Oxford;

* Degree in the field (or pursuing a degree)/Post graduate Oxbridge students


Oxford Residence and Commuting:

Highly qualified candidates for whom commuting is not an option are housed in ensuite rooms with our residential staff in college.

Breakfast and dinner are included.
