Merrifield Consultants are delighted to partner with The London Transport Museum to find them a Trusts and Foundation Manager, someone to be responsible for developing mid-high-value reactive bids and proactive applications whilst coordinating cross-organisational responses to opportunities.

Title: Trusts and Foundations Manager

Salary: £37,000

Location: London based office with a minimum of 1/2 day in the office.

Contract: Permanent/ Full-time

Main responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new funding opportunities from trusts and foundations based on your understanding of all areas of the Museum’s work
  • Take on a portfolio of trusts and foundations of various sizes and at different stages of engagement and, through research, effective communications and a cogent eligible application, secure income
  • Support relationship development and income generation from funders with whom the Museum already has a strong relationship including Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund
  • Maintain project oversight of successful grant applications.
  • Manage meticulous data and administration processes and oversight of key milestones, KPIs and an application pipeline
  • Ensure all reports are written and completed in a timely and professional manner as part of a personalised approach to supporter care
  • Undertake all activities in line with best practice standards and processes as set out by the Institute of Fundraising and industry regulatory bodies.
  • Keep up to date on the latest trends and developments within fundraising and ensure London Transport Museum remains competitive, innovative and sector-leading
  • Work alongside colleagues to contribute to the overall strategy and success of the Marketing and Development team embedding a culture of fundraising and philanthropy across London Transport Museum

Knowledge and Skillset:

  • Knowedge of trusts and foundations funding landscape (Essential)
  • Knowledge of researching trusts and developing and managing a prospect pipeline
  • Knowledge of approaching trusts and building personal relationships with funders
  • Knowledge of developing successful complex proposals and applications
  • Knowledge of reporting and stewardship of relationships with funders
  • Knowledge of GDPR and fundraising legislation and compliance
