Transport Operations Supervisor in Hebburn

Transport Operations Supervisor Hebburn £30,000 - £35,000 per annum Pin Point Recruitment are looking for a Transport Operations Supervisor for a chemical manufacturing business based in Hebburn.

The company have been established since 1979 and cover 9 sites across the UK with the Grays site being the headquarters.

They supply both bulk and packed chemicals to a variety of industries including agriculture, water, steel production, energy utilities, pharmaceuticals, and homecare products.

As the Transport Operations Supervisor it will be your responsibility to supervise all transport activities and ensure that the delivery plan is completed in accordance with customers’ requirements.

Transport Operations Supervisor Job Role: * Act as the focal point for all daily operational Transport issues.

* Monitor the performance of the company fleet and sub-contractor fleet, use Microlise to its optimum and challenge drivers where necessary.

* Document all changes to the Delivery Plan and produce an accurate Confirmed Delivery Plan which can be used for the purposes of driver’s pay and the confirmation of sub-contractors costs.

* Responding to customer enquiries, providing quotations and keeping them updated as to the progress of deliveries.

* Assist in the closing out job files by obtaining POD and any other required information (Purchase orders, SPTR references etc), and scanning documents onto the system.

* Authorise all company driver’s pay.

* Reviewing routes and suppliers to ensure transport is planned cost effectively and to maximise profitability.

* Producing weekly KPIs as directed by your Line Manager.

* Ensuring clear and accurate communication with all UK warehouse’s so they are aware of returns and outgoing loads and can plan manufacturing effectively.

* Ensure that the Fuel Management system is correctly used by all Site drivers * Provide an accurate Night Loader sheet for pre-loads and monitor the performance of the night loading operation.

* Ensure drivers are working within legislation requirements, including WTD, tachos.

* Ensure planning works in conjunction with maintenance for different vehicle types.

Transport Operations Supervisor Skills Required: * Experience working within a supervisory level in a transport environment * Good understanding of driver regulations and compliance regulations * CPC qualification would be advantageous * Experience working in a ADR environment is beneficial Apply now for more information
