Job Description
As Assistant Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:
Technical
- Perform data analysis, produce charts and graphs, and interpret the data to provide insightful commentary to our clients, focusing on key KPIs and business drivers.
- Provide input to key due diligence analyses, such as quality of earnings, working capital adjustments and net debt items
- Report writing – produce sections of reports in PowerPoint regarding the financial affairs and prospects of a business
- Understand and appreciate key commercial aspects of the client’s business, its business model, scalability and business risks.
- Develop an understanding of the transaction services risk model and the regulatory framework.
- Prepare and interpret financial models in Microsoft Excel
- Assist with work associated with the reporting accountant role in an AIM listing
Client Contact
- Have regular discussions with the client to confirm progress, identify solutions to any hurdles and ensure reasonable expectations are met.
- Establish relationships with key contacts at the client and the target.
- Present sections of our analysis or report to our client
Organisational
- Manage the process in terms of information flow and client/target interaction
- Provide regular progress reports to the manager.
- Identify and discuss with manager issues/problems and agree and complete appropriate actions.
- Be able to work on several different assignments at one time.
- Get involved in discussions on billing, overruns, and WIP management
Staff development
- Attendance on relevant technical and personal development courses.
- 1-2-1 feedback post assignment, and throughout the year
- Technical reading.
Business development
- Engage with business development initiatives, representing the team at events promoting our services
- Work on pitch documents
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Demonstrable audit experience gained within a professional services firm.
- Keen interest in the transactions sector.
- Strong communication skills, oral and written, both internally and directly with clients.
- Demonstrable ability to organise self and others, such that you can work on several different assignments at one time.
- Ideally some experience of diligence assignments, but not critical.
- ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
