Trainer

The Growth Company’s (GC)  Employment team have an exciting new opportunity for a Trainer to deliver a range of high-quality training services for unemployed people, contribute to individuals’ progression into employment. Within the Restart Scheme, you will be part of a government initiative that provides personalised support for up to 12 months to help people find a job in their local area and help overcome any challenges that might be standing in the way of employment.

We help to make a lasting difference to the lives of people throughout the North of England and beyond, by supporting individuals to gain meaningful employment.

Our highly skilled advisers and keyworkers work with a range of individuals; from people who have found themselves recently out of work, to those with complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health and debt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop materials and training courses designed to progress customers into employment.
  • Establish and deliver both group and one-to-one activities as part of client interventions including initial assessments and inductions with clients.
  • Deliver both group and one-to-one intervention(s) following induction and assessment:
  • Deliver a wide range of training courses in groups and one to one intervention’s including but not exclusively, basic IT, effective job search, job clubs, confidence and motivation, telephone techniques, transferable skills, hidden job market, Barriers to employment.
  • Seek ways to continuously improve service and own performance and report to Manager on this.
  • Carry out associated Administration work including report writing, updating internal systems, collecting, and analysing management information, evaluating service delivery and audit and review of records.
  • About you:

  • A warm, approachable style to delivery is required in order to build relationships and rapport with customers.
  • A flexible approach to location and courses delivered.
  • Skills Required:

  • PGCE qualification or equivalent.
  • Recent experience of delivering training to customers with a wide range of needs and barriers.
  • Experience of working with long-term unemployed customers. 
  • Additional qualification in ESOL/Learners with Additional needs/Numeracy & Literacy.
  • Ability to work with challenging customer groups.
  • Capability to deliver a wide range of training solutions for all GC.
