Test Engineer in Newport

An experienced and established designer and manufacturer of cutting edge electronics products that are used across space, aerospace, defence, and commercial sectors are looking for an experienced Engineer to join their Test team.

Info about what the Test Engineer role entails As a designer and builder of complex electronics systems and sub systems, working alongside a test team of 4 Test Technicians you will developing tests for these products.

It may be a simple test or a basic jig, semi manual test of fully automated test (using an outsourced test system provider where necessary).

You will liaise with the customer, specify the 1st stage prototype, develop the test and then once it’s done hand over to the Test Operators / Technicians.

The role is a combination of liaising with customers on new projects, improving test systems as well as tweaking and maintaining new tests.

Essential Requirements of the Test Engineer * Python or C programming skills (for test development - developing test scripts).

* Experience developing test is essential, There is some manual testing, some semi manual and some fully automated testing * Electronic Engineering background, HNC, BTEC, HND, Degree all OK * Good practical, hands on electronics experience * Security Clearable - UK resident for at least 5 years * Need to be able to use standard test equipment like multimeters, signal generators, oscilloscopes etc Desirable Requirements of the Test Engineer * Labview programming experience * Matlab * RF experience useful but not essential Contract – Outside IR35 If you feel you are suitable and interested in this role, APPLY NOW with an up to date CV.
