Technical Documentation EngineerBristol - onsite for initial training, then minimum 1-2days per week in the office£45,000 - £51,000 + additional benefits incl. 25 days holiday, share options, up to 14% pension and more!BriefTechnical Documentation Engineer needed for a leading engineering firm based in the Bristol area.What the role of the Technical Documentation Engineer entails:Some of the main duties of the Technical Documentation Engineer will include:Work with users of the Data Room Service (from other defence-related companies) to identify and share design, support and maintenance data as appropriateLiaise with Ship Maintenance Management Group desk officers as necessary to secure permission to release third party dataLiaise with the Integration Team for access to IETM (interactive electronic technical manual) and specific Data Modules in response to requests for dataProvision of advice on accessing project Approved DataSupport to the development of data exploitation toolsUse of data exploitation tools for the delivery of a records library serviceWhat experience you need to be the successful Technical Documentation Engineer:Essential:Thorough knowledge of complex design data repositoriesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reportsExperience of Configuration and Document Management techniquesDesirable:MATLAB/Python (or other scripting tools) experiencePrevious experience of warship design and integration deliverables and a working knowledge of company proceduresUnderstanding of whole warship systems, particularly Combat SystemsIn order to be eligible for this role you will need to undergo Security Clearance Background Checks that require you to be a UK resident and UK passport holder.This really is a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Documentation Engineer to progress their career.
