Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage social work and health services for adults with learning disabilities. This includes the management of a multi-professional health and social work staff group.
  • To be responsible for the assessment and care management. This will include the management of staff in locality teams and in directly provided services, and for ensuring effective arrangements are in place for the assessment and review of people in externally provided services.
  • To be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and commissioning of services for learning disabled adults and for promoting a joint approach to the development and delivery of such services.
  • Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent
  • Member of the SSSC
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly, under direction and independently where necessary
  • Management experience within a large complex, preferably within the NHS or public sector with experience of managing and developing Mental Health, Addictions and/or Learning Disability services.
