Talent Acquisition Consultant 

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £29,840 – £44,760, depending on experience

Location: Edinburgh (typically 2 days in the office per week, 3 from home)  

Closing date: Friday 5th July

As a Talent Acquisition team our purpose is to ensure Aegon UK attracts and retains people with the skills and capabilities the business needs today and in the future. As the Talent Acquisition Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering a professional service by managing key recruitment activities through the full hiring cycle.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:  

  • Managing Talent Acquisition cases across a diverse range of vacancies for specialist hiring. 

  • Acting as a single point of contact for hiring managers and providing advice and support on all matters relating to the talent acquisition lifecycle. 

  • Utilising diverse and direct sourcing methods to identify and connect with candidates. 

  • Proactively contributing to a culture of continuous improvement which will include developing and improving processes and procedures to enhance the candidate and manager experience. 

  • Undertaking activities such as creating engaging job adverts and social content, application screening and telephone screening whilst assessing candidates' strengths against the hiring brief. 

  • We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Previous experience in a Talent Acquisition role, ideally across specialist hiring.

  • Established strong relationships with hiring managers to identify needs, assess talent requirements and advise on the best hiring strategy whilst supporting them with the full talent acquisition lifecycle. 

  • Deployed direct sourcing strategies, both within the active and passive candidate market. 

  • Strong knowledge of recruitment best practice, process, policy and awareness of appropriate legislation. 

  • Proven experience managing a range of roles across a variety of business units. 

  • Familiarity with people technology and talent acquisition systems such as Workday or equivalent 

  • Strong networking and relationship building skills.
