Strategy Manager
Location: London, hybrid working (2dpw onsite)
Length: 2 year FTC
Start: TBC (Subject to notice period)
An excellent opportunity has arisen with one of our London based local authority clients for a Strategy Manager, to help the Council achieve its strategic goals, improving outcomes for residents and businesses through the embedding, implementation and monitoring of their Corporate Strategy.
Key responsibilities of the Strategy Manager includes:
- Proactively review the corporate strategy against wider threats and opportunities and provide advice where appropriate
- Effectively managing the full strategic process to gather, interpret, synthesise and public the plan, taking it through to approval process with Senior Leaders and Cabinet Members
- Influence and improve the implementation and governance mechanisms to ensure work is strategically aligned
- Lead on providing Cabinet and Executive Directors with effective oversight of delivery plan progress and impact
- Support service managers to identify challenges and opportunities though horizon scanning, incorporating them into the strategy where appropriate
- Develop a robust process for continuously scanning the environment and lead the scenario planning process, facilitating workshops and discussions to explore future scenarios
- Be the main point of contact to understand what local strategic partners in the local area are doing, especially with their partnership strategies
- Build and manage strong networks of strategy leads across different areas, coordinating and align their activities to work effectively
Essential experience for the Strategy Manager includes:
- Experience of successfully leading strategy development and business planning
- Previous in building strong collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external senior stakeholders
- A background and experience in a similar role within a local authority setting
