At Claires Court Schools, we are seeking to work with an enthusiastic and passionate self-employed Singing Teacher (Classical Preferred).

There are opportunities to teach students primarily in our senior and sixth form school although numbers vary from year to year.

We estimate one or one and a half days per week during term time depending on demand.

5 days per week during term time (varies with demand)Please Note: Applicants must be authorised to work in the UKThe Singing Teacher Role:The purpose of the role is to provide high-quality and creative Singing teaching and coaching for children of all abilities as well as pupils on scholarship schemes.

Key responsibilities include: * Planning and preparing lessons and overall schemes of work in relation to individual pupils' needs and examination syllabuses * Acquiring appropriate teaching materials and resources * Preparing pupils for performances and examinations * Motivating pupils and encouraging progress * Liaising with academic staff and parents * Arranging lesson schedules and collecting fees * Ensuring up-to-date knowledge and awareness of examination requirements * Assessing pupils’ abilities, providing feedback and writing reports * Encourage performance opportunities for your pupils, such as concerts for friends and relatives * Supporting recitals and concerts for pupils' families and Friends * Teaching music theory, aural skills and practical techniques to pupils – as appropriate and relevantSkills and Qualities: * Musical and teaching ability * Patience, perseverance and excellent communication skills * The ability to motivate and encourage your pupils * High standards of professionalism and professional ethics * Excellent self-management and organisational skills * Passion and enthusiasm for music and teachingAbove all, you must want the very best for our pupils and be prepared to put their needs first.
