Shift Production Technician in Trafford Park

LANXESS UK is now recruiting a Production Technician (shift team) to work in our chemical manufacturing plant in Trafford Park Manchester!

What you will do?

Your primary responsibility of this role is to operate chemical manufacturing equipment for the Trafford Park site. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of production units for B72 Phosphates; hydraulic & turbo fluids; and Plasticisers manufacturing units

Other Responsibilities include:

In process analytical testing

Completion of internal transfers to storage tanks

Recording of clear concise records, use of SAP, for goods movements associated with all aspects of the role.

Fork lift truck transfer of materials form line side to warehouse & vice versa.

Front line maintenance activities.

Maintaining the condition of the production areas within the workplace.

About you!

We would love to hear from you if you have;

City and Guilds PPO or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent levels/GCSEs in Maths, English and Chemistry/Science or equivalent vocation qualification or accredited multi-skilled apprenticeship or a nationally accredited trade apprenticeship

Comfortable working in in some areas with restricted access/confined areas

Experience of chemical plant process operation

Operation of analytical laboratory equipment

Trade work (preferably multi-skilled) and/or appropriate work in an industrial environment (preferably process)

An awareness of safety legislation/procedures and quality systems (ISO 9001-2000)

Strong numeracy / literacy skills (written and verbal communication skills)

Evaluation of plant data and identification of corrective action

HSE awareness, compliance with safe systems of work, knowledge of standards

Prioritisation of tasks and planning shift activities

Problem solving skills and attention to detail

Team working ability

Able to contribute to improvement projects

Fork lift truck operation experience and valid licence

Previous DCS experience or managing a chemical plant with control system.

SAP experience (desirable)
