Shift Production Technician in Trafford Park

LANXESS UK is now recruiting a Production Technician (shift team) to work in our chemical manufacturing plant in Trafford Park Manchester!

What you will do?nYour primary responsibility of this role is to operate chemical manufacturing equipment for the Trafford Park site. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of production units for B72 Phosphates; hydraulic & turbo fluids; and Plasticisers manufacturing unitsnOther Responsibilities include:nIn process analytical testingnCompletion of internal transfers to storage tanksnRecording of clear concise records, use of SAP, for goods movements associated with all aspects of the role.nFork lift truck transfer of materials form line side to warehouse & vice versa.nFront line maintenance activities.nMaintaining the condition of the production areas within the workplace.

About you!nWe would love to hear from you if you have;nCity and Guilds PPO or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent levels/GCSEs in Maths, English and Chemistry/Science or equivalent vocation qualification or accredited multi-skilled apprenticeship or a nationally accredited trade apprenticeshipnComfortable working in in some areas with restricted access/confined areasnExperience of chemical plant process operationnOperation of analytical laboratory equipmentnTrade work (preferably multi-skilled) and/or appropriate work in an industrial environment (preferably process)nAn awareness of safety legislation/procedures and quality systems (ISO 9001-2000)nStrong numeracy / literacy skills (written and verbal communication skills)nEvaluation of plant data and identification of corrective actionnHSE awareness, compliance with safe systems of work, knowledge of standardsnPrioritisation of tasks and planning shift activitiesnProblem solving skills and attention to detailnTeam working abilitynAble to contribute to improvement projectsnFork lift truck operation experience and valid licencenPrevious DCS experience or managing a chemical plant with control system.nSAP experience (desirable)
