Service Charge Accountant  

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

£35,089 per year (pro rata)

35 hours per week

12 month secondment opportunity available upon current line management approval

We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Charge Accountant to join our Service Charge team, based in Worcester.

The team is responsible for completing the calculations of service charges and associated activities.

The role of Service Charge Accountant will include:

• Perform regular reconciliations between the bank, SAP system and Excel service charge templates
• Supporting the Service Charge team to ensure we meet business objectives
• Assist with building/maintaining relationships with stakeholders to ensure queries and complaints are resolved within a timely manner
• Managing and maintaining the accuracy of the financial information that we are responsible for, ensuring that regulatory and statutory requirements are met
• Assisting in developing, implementing and maintaining effective systems and processes
• Managing a team to ensure completion of scheme accounts and scheme budgets within the given timeframe

Skills and experiences:

• AAT qualification or have relevant experience
• Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively in order to meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal/communication and leadership skills
• Some experience in interrogating/analysing errors and process for correcting these
• Accounts preparation experience at a detailed level
• Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel
• Previous experience of using SAP
• Previous service charge experience would be advantageous
• Knowledge of where processes could be automated in Excel using VBA/Macros is desirable
