In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality from our suppliers, supporting our mission to deliver superior products to our customers. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to develop and implement robust quality systems, drive continuous improvement, and resolve quality issues. The aim is to deliver fully ready and approved supply of specific parts at launch and pre-launch of New Product Introduction.Key Responsibilities of Senior Supplier Quality Engineer :Develop and maintain supplier quality standards and processes to ensure compliance with industry and company requirements.Launch the APQP process with nominated suppliers for all new components, materials or sub-contract services.Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate quality systems, processes, and capabilities.Collaborate with suppliers to develop corrective action plans and verify implementation and effectiveness.Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for supplier-related quality issues.Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing, to ensure alignment and integration of supplier quality objectives.Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers to enhance their quality systems and processes.Manage and maintain supplier quality documentation, including inspection plans, quality agreements, and certifications.Stay current with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in supplier quality management.Ability to travel as needed to support supplier quality activities.Qualifications for their new Senior Supplier Quality Engineer:Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in the automotive sector.Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and automotive industry standards.Proven experience in conducting supplier audits and assessments.Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of root cause analysis methodologies.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.Proficiency in quality tools and techniques such as FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and Six Sigma.By joining this business as their new Senior Supplier Quality Engineer you will be rewarded with:Opportunity to join company share schemeWork with a passionate and innovative team.A dynamic work environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.Be a part of a company that values sustainability and cutting-edge technology in the automotive industry.If this role of Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is of interest simply click apply or if you have any further questions, please contact David Thompson at Orion Electrotech Reading.Due to the volume of applications we receive, unfortunately we are not able to respond to every application personally, therefore, if you have not heard back from us within 5 working days please assume your application has been unsuccessful.
