Here's what we need

As a Senior SEO Director in our SEO Team, you will report directly to our Head of SEO.

We are passionate about organic search optimisation, brilliant digital experiences, the pursuit of technical excellence and total performance. You will share our passion in these areas, with considerable experience using SEO to achieve sustainable visibility on search engines and integrating it with other channels.

You will be accountable for the technical integrity of clients’ websites and quality and direction of content through an overarching SEO strategy.

To achieve this, you will have an excellent understanding of how websites are built – not just on a technical level, but also their stakeholders and workflows. You will be comfortable working alongside developers, within agile workflows. You will also be proficient in providing non-technical stakeholders with clear, concise and jargon-free recommendations and able to question their KPIs and data integrity to truly show ROI for SEO.

RocketMill aspires to be valued for the quality of its thinking as well as the quality of its doing. Therefore, you will take ownership of SEO performance for your clients and those within your extended portfolio, developing strategies and KPIs for your channel and contributing to the wider digital mix. You will be the first point of escalation for your portfolio and capable of winning over difficult stakeholders in times of poor performance, poor quality or misunderstandings.

You will be responsible for leading a senior team. You will make sure that your team members are happy and equipped with the tools to perform their role and to grow into the next one. You will be charged with ensuring the team’s work is driven by forward thinking strategies, delivered to a market-leading standard and ensure they take accountability. You will be responsible for the financial performance of your team and village and will report back to the Head of SEO with revenue at risk and new opportunities.

The SEO team really is a team, we believe that everyone has a contribution to make regardless of their level of seniority and everyone has something to teach. Your role will include delivering and organising training for SEO team members, including outside of your direct line reports.

Working alongside the Head of SEO, you will also play a central role in maintenance, ideation and delivery of new tools. You will be responsible for helping productise and standardise deliverables to make the team more efficient and avoid duplication of effort. You will be involved in the creation of innovative templates and reporting dashboards to better utilise the team’s time and promote RocketMill externally. You will take ownership of one of the strategic pillars and drive the team forward.

Finally, you will bring an open mind and a forward-thinking approach, able to help us succeed in a world where search engines are not the only means to attract organic traffic. This means continuing to push and develop the SEO product and its interaction with other channels by improving deliverables, expanding our offering and reacting to new technologies.
