Who We Are

We are a remote first software as a service (SaaS) company, bringing true digital transformation to the global shipping industry.

We enhance the way shipping professionals work by creating technology for the maritime industry and bringing it to market.

With over 85% of the world’s trade transported by sea, we have a huge opportunity to transform existing manual, offline and disparate processes into a tech-enabled and data-rich experience enabling better decision-making and fewer costly and time-consuming mistakes.

Our premier platform, Sea, is the world’s first digital shipping platform that provides cloud-based applications focused on the pre-fixture and at-fixture space.

These connect to create efficiencies and digitise workflows.

The Role

In this role, you will be fully responsible for product management of our Contracts products – an integral part of the Sea intelligent marketplace for fixing freight.

Our Contracts products streamline and simplify negotiations and approvals for charter party contracts and have a high volume of active users that rely on our products for business-critical workflows.

You will work in close collaboration with a product designer and a tech lead, planning and executing new development initiatives alongside the Contracts product team.

Additionally, you will be part of a team of Product Managers responsible for our customer-facing products and collaborate with them on developing the tools and practices that enable us to deliver value to our customers as efficiently as possible.

You will engage with both existing and potential customers to gather insights and understand their needs, synthesizing input and feedback from various sources into informed decisions about priorities for product development, while ensuring alignment with our business goals and vision.

We believe in a product-led approach to growth, and in minimizing the time to value for every new development initiative we undertake.

To be successful in this role, prior experience with product management of SaaS products that facilitate document and/or contract workflows will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Build a deep understanding of users and their problems and contribute to the shared knowledge base of Sea.
  • Contribute to building a culture of true customer-led product design through data-driven solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with teams and developers to align plans, unpick problems, unblock development, advise on how to implement a new feature, and communicate changes.
  • Guide implementation of product analytics tools and create actionable plans on outcomes.
  • Perform market analysis to inform the product roadmap, determine market size, assess competition, and define market positioning
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the platform is designed and built to relevant requirements.
  • Be a product leader, sharing your work with leadership.
  • Continuously monitor the product and platform, track and review metrics to ensure we add value for our customers

Skills and experience

  • Proven record of accomplishment in managing all aspects of a digital product. This should be throughout its lifecycle, ideally delivering large scale cloud-based services.
  • Experience with product management, agile software development, and collaboration in multidisciplinary product teams.
  • Comfortable with complex problem solving and data-driven decision-making.
  • Keen sense of business value and prioritization. We are building a true end-to-end solution, collaborating with other teams and the ability to identify and leverage features across the platform is key, as well as articulating the business value of such changes.
  • Approachable, excellent communicator – presenting to stakeholders both internally and externally is second nature to you.
  • A self-starter who enjoys and has experience owning, shaping, transforming, and delivering a world class product.
  • Experience with product management of SaaS products that facilitate document and/or contract workflows is considered an advantage. Similarly, an understanding of (or experience from) the shipping industry is considered an advantage.
