This role in a nutshell:

This is an exciting role working as part of a team of 3 analysts in the Pricing Team which has ownership of setting prices for approx. 4m customers in a highly competitive, highly regulated, highly volatile market. We also work to value optimise within our pricing principles and maximise the value generated from our customers, having a material impact on OVO’s commercial performance, business planning and commercial strategy.

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Evidence and test hypothesis on behaviours for existing OVO customers and for wider market
  • Own price assumptions across a range of sales channels and activity
  • Enable a coordinated effort to planning around price with KPIs to support delivery
  • React to the market, to take day to day decisions on the value maximising levels to adopt and price changes to implement within agreed pricing principles
  • Collaborate with the wider business / delivery teams to deliver price change and tariff launch business processes that support the agile optimisation of our tariff offerings
  • Collaborate with and influence the Propositions & Growth teams to innovate our pricing approaches to assure value and to leverage on the Energy Range
  • Develop and own a standardised model to support the value assessment of new tariffs and propositions against both short term and long term business goals.
  • You will develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels to consolidate and cascade information, highlight risks and opportunities and develop business processes.
  • Systems:

  • Experience with data analysis in other programming languages (eg. Python or R)
  • Experience in data visualisation tools (eg Tableau or Power BI).
  • You’ll be a successful Senior Pricing Analyst here at OVO if you…

  • Are a numbers person, confident in dealing with large data sets and extracting key insight & results.
  • Specific experience in analysing customer behaviour and dynamics and interpretation of this information
  • Confident when influencing senior stakeholders
  • Motivated by responding to changing environments and to be able to take the initiative in addressing and leading our response to complex challenges.
  • You will need the ability to learn quickly in order to develop a detailed understanding of existing models and processes.
  • Highly analytical with strong data manipulation skills and advanced Excel/Google sheets knowledge.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with BigQuery
  • Proven high attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • A team player who thrives in a challenging environment.
  • Flexibility; willing to contribute on a range of work aspects.
