Job overview

As a Senior Management Accountant you will have ownership and responsibility of an entity within Monex Europe Holding Ltd group. You will oversee and report on this entity’s financial activity, presenting to the Head of Accounting as and when required.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities will include:

Financial Reporting and Control

• Prepare the management accounts pack for Monex Europe Ltd ensuring its compliance with the UK regulations.
• Work with the Finance team to agree inter-company reconciliations.
• Carry out regular reviews of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet throughout the month and at month-end, ensuring the correct accounting treatment for all transactions, identifying variances and trends, and instructing any required accounting adjustment to the Accounts Payable team or the Finance Assistant.
• Maintain and post monthly accruals, ensuring the inclusion of provisions for upcoming costs as per the advice of the relevant Heads of Department.
• Review month-end activities and postings carried out by the Finance Assistant, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports required by the Head Office in Mexico.
• Provide key financial highlights and commentary to the Head of Accounting.
• Prepare the Statutory Annual Accounts for Monex Europe Ltd post year-end.
• Provide support to the Head of Accounting with the interim and year end external audit process.
• Review the financials prepared for the Board Meeting every quarter.
• Lead and supervise all monthly and ad hoc Finance related activities for IAs.
• Support the Head of Accounting with any required ad hoc activities, including ad hoc requests or queries from the Head office.

Other Responsibilities

• Overview the collation and preparation of invoices for payments as well as supplier records.
• Ensure the correct tax criteria is used for all invoices from Monex Europe Ltd’s suppliers and invoices from IAs.
• Compile tax data for annual tax return.

What are we looking for

• Previous experience working within a similar role within a commercial environment;
• Previous experience of working within in a regulated financial services firm is desirable but not compulsory;
• Fully ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified;
• Educated to Degree-level in a relevant field or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience;
• Advanced Excel skills, including V-Lookups and pivot tables;
• Experience using Workday is an advantage;
• Knowledge of applicable accounting regulations;
• Fluency in other European languages is desirable.
