Livingston James is delighted to be retained by Bute Energy to appoint a Senior Energy Analyst.

Bute Energy Limited has built up a market-leading pipeline of Energy Park projects in Wales, constituting the largest onshore renewables development portfolio in the UK.

The businesses’ Energy Parks will combine the latest technology for onshore wind and solar generation to provide projects with some of the lowest Levelised Cost of Energy in the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth business and contribute to helping Wales reach its Net Zero targets.

This specialist role will play a key part in the development of appropriate processes and systems designed to monitor wind performance of current and future sites.

You will design wind monitoring programs, analyse and interpret measured wind data, undertake pre-construction wind resource and energy yield analysis, perform due diligence of 3rd party analysis as well as be involved in negotiating turbine supply agreements.

The successful candidate will need to be a highly professional and aspirational analyst with a strong interest in the renewable energy sector, whilst being driven to deliver technical excellence to match Bute’s ethos.

You’ll be an effective technical thinker with strong analytical problem- solving skills and a collaborative approach.

You’ll be keen to develop your skills, seeing this opportunity as a fantastic way to progress in a fast-growing specialist team.

As an exceptional communicator, you’ll be formulating ideas and communicating these clearly to your internal and external stakeholders, as well as demonstrating your well-developed report writing and presentation skills with acute attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design wind measurement campaigns on our greenfield sites
  • Analyse and interpretation of measured wind data from met mast and lidar
  • Model wind flow using wind flow models such as WAsP or WindSim
  • Calculate of energy yield assessments and technical losses
  • Complete technical reporting to our key stakeholders, management of projects and budgets
  • Site visits to our wind farm sites and met mast installations
  • Completion and presentation of technical reporting to internal stakeholders
  • Quality assurance for wind yield and associated deliverables
  • Due diligence of 3rd party reports and TSA negotiations
