Our Diversity and Inclusion team is embedded within our Human Resources team, and they work hand in hand with our HR Advisors and HR Managers who align to all parts of our business. The role will have daily contact with everyone who works here – partners, associates and trainees in our legal teams and Business Services Directors and their teams.


We are looking for a Diversity and Inclusion Senior Manager. This is a permanent, full time role reporting into the Head of HR Operations and Projects. They will work closely with the HR team and our D&I partners, HR partners and others. They will also lead the D&I team which is made up of two D&I Managers and an executive.


The role is a hands-on, implementation role which will set the pace and momentum to drive forward and deliver our ambitious strategy. Our priority is to continue to create change and ownership within the business to achieve stretch targets and to innovate across our key focus areas.


This is an exciting role and provides an excellent opportunity for an individual with a proven track record of delivering Diversity and Inclusion to innovate and execute a high- quality programme of work.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES //


The key responsibilities of this role are set out below – there may be others which are not listed. The role may require a degree of flexibility from the successful individual, which could include working outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.


  • Programme implementation

-Work closely with senior leadership to develop and drive the implementation of our D&I strategy.

-Responsible for leading on continuous improvement and innovation in the key focus areas.

-Set goals and deadlines to ensure achievement of delivery against strategy and budget.

-Leveraging opportunities to further integrate the D&I strategy into the firm’s Responsible Business strategy and across the firm.


  • Communications and relationships

-Manage multiple senior stakeholders working groups to deliver against action plans and KPIs.

-Maintain the firm’s reputation and profile as a leader in this area.

-Consult with our eleven employee-led diversity networks for alignment with strategy and actions.

-Lead on key D&I communications, including benchmarks and award submissions.

-Actively manage our relationships with external diversity membership campaigns and charities.

-Engage colleagues internationally and collaborating on key initiatives.


  • Knowledge, expertise and skills

-Transform subject matter expertise into pragmatic solutions and products that enable change.

-Be a visible advocate and subject matter expert for D&I across the firm and the source of market best practice/thought leadership.

-Work in partnership with Knowledge and Learning to deliver a best-in-class D&I curriculum for the firm.

-Monitor and analyse D&I metrics to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations for action.

-Responsible for data insights and reporting, including regular tracking and monitoring.


CANDIDATE PROFILE //


Candidates for this position should have direct or related experience of working in a private or public sector organisation, ideally with previous line management experience.


  • A confident, engaging communicator and visible advocate for D&I.
  • Significant understanding and experience of D&I and a proven track record of delivering D&I related projects.
  • The ability to think strategically, combined with creativity and imagination to design the implementation of an idea in a commercial environment.
  • Knowledgeable on evolving D&I thought leadership and new concepts.
  • Ability to provide D&I best practice advice and apply guidance to strategic opportunities and practical situations.
  • Extremely organised with excellent project management experience and proven ability to manage multiple deliverables within a tight timeframe and of a consistent high quality.
  • Excellent communication skills with evidence of being able to communicate effectively at all levels, especially senior level to get ‘buy-in’ for initiatives.
  • A skilled influencer and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of people.
  • Experience of producing high quality targeted communications.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a high performing D&I team.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and translate data, and produce management information.
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity and displays the highest standard of professional ethics.
