Salary:£45,585 to £48,350 with progression to £54,395 per annum

The Role
We are looking for an experienced manager for our newly created Senior Business Support Manager opportunity in the School of Engineering .
Working in partnership with the Head of School Operations, your will join a network of managers in our Leadership Team. You will have specific leadership responsibility for School governance and people and wellbeing, as well as deputising for the Head of School Operations when required.
This will involve leading on the annual business cycle and colleague lifecycle, as well as offering management support to the Directors of Discipline to enable and ensure the effective implementation of School strategies and plans in all areas.
We are looking for candidates who have leadership and line management experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent experience of strategic and business planning in a changing Higher Education environment, including the development of policies and procedures. You will possess highly developed communication skills, with experience of influential presentation of data and facts to inform debate and decision making.
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong commitment to sharing best practice in a culture of continuous improvement, in addition to excellent interpersonal skills. You will have demonstrable experience of building effective working relationships with academic and professional service stakeholders and senior management.

The position is open-ended and offered on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) with an immediate start date. The role is predominantly campus-based on the City Campus in Newcastle upon Tyne.
