Our significant growth and changes has led us to investing further across the business to increase revenue, partnerships with our customers and in turn, look at the function of business development within the business. With this comes the requirement for a Sales & Marketing Director to spearhead the Sales & Marketing function on a permanent basis.

This will be a critical role in overseeing and managing how we obtain new business at The Fuel Store. They will provide steady, strategic leadership, whilst being responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales and marketing plans to drive business growth and continuing our incredible growth in market share.

The Sales & Marketing Director will work closely with senior management, contributing to the organisation's overall mission and strategic objectives.

Requirements
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies:
    • Formulate and execute detailed plans that drive sales growth and enhance the company's market presence.
  • Set and achieve sales targets and revenue goals:
    • Establish realistic yet ambitious sales targets and ensure the team meets or exceeds them through effective management and motivation.
  • Oversee and manage the sales and marketing teams:
    • Lead, coach, and support the sales and marketing teams to foster a high-performance culture and achieve business objectives, fostering professional growth and ensuring the development of skills necessary for future leadership roles.
  • Analyse market trends and identify opportunities for growth:
    • Continuously monitor industry trends and market dynamics to uncover new business opportunities and stay ahead of competitors.
  • Coordinate and execute marketing campaigns and promotional activities:
    • Plan and manage marketing campaigns, ensuring they are well-executed and aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders:
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to enhance loyalty and drive business success.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives:
    • Working with the Senior Marketing Manager, track the performance of marketing efforts through metrics and analytics, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align strategies and objectives:
    • Work closely with product development, finance, and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving company goals.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for sales and marketing activities:
    • Develop, allocate, and oversee budgets for all sales and marketing activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximising ROI.
  • Conduct market research to inform business strategies and the board:
    • Carry out in-depth market research to gather insights and data that inform strategic decisions and identify market needs.
  • Develop pricing strategies to maximize profitability:
    • Create and implement pricing strategies that optimize profit margins while remaining competitive in the market.
  • Ensure compliance with any regulations and company policies:
    • Stay informed about relevant regulations and standards, ensuring that all sales and marketing practices adhere to legal and company guidelines.
  • Evaluate and optimize sales processes and tools:
    • Regularly assess the effectiveness of sales processes and tools, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Orchestrate industry events and assist in representing the company at conferences and trade shows:
    • Actively participate in industry events, representing the company and building a network of contacts to enhance business development opportunities.


Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing or BA Preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstratable success in developing and executing sales & marketing strategies.
  • Extensive, Proven experience in a senior sales/marketing role such as a Head of or in leadership
  • Strong knowledge of different business development principles, practices, and regulatory requirements in the UK.

  • Either industry knowledge or a strong willingness to learn and the proven experience at picking things up at speed
  • Technically proficient with CRM & automation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
