This is an opportunity to join the high-performance team behind Europe’s leading events for retail property. Completely Retail Marketplace is a series of events where retail and leisure brands meet and network with a diverse range of property agents, landlords, shopping centre owners, franchise operators and organisations to discuss the market and opportunities for space.

Exhibitors, sponsors and attendees meet, network, exchange market insights and their requirements, and then do business. Completely Retail Marketplace is the place to originate, accelerate and close retail and property deals across Europe.

This role would be ideal for an intelligent and hard-working salesperson with 3+ years of B2B events sales experience, craving a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment in which they can successfully drive sales growth and reap the linked financial rewards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales of our exhibition and sponsorship packages.
  • Win new business and increase our fantastic customer base.
  • Rebook clients with strong increases in average order value year on year.
  • Up-sell and cross-sell across our events portfolio.
  • Lead highly effective sales conversations in person, on the phone and via video conferencing.
  • Be proactive in prospecting for new opportunities across various platforms.
  • Work with colleagues across the business to deliver ROI for our clients and expand our client base.
  • Create proposals that sell to the client’s decision-making group.
  • Be a champion for your clients’ results within the business. You will understand that this is key to securing the deal now and delivering growth in the future.
  • Make effective use of CRM, LinkedIn, and other systems to help you manage your time, maximise your pipeline, and deliver sales results.

Key Behaviours

  • Enthusiasm – For sales, for events and for delivering results for yourself, your team and your clients. You will be “hitting the ground running” and on the phones from day one. You will have no fear of picking up the phone.
  • Collaboration – You will seek to understand your clients’ key priorities and underlying challenges, then co-create bespoke recommendations that deliver results. Collaborate with your colleagues to deliver results.
  • Control – you will be confident (but not arrogant) and will sell effectively to C-Suite level decision makers and senior marketers, tailoring your approach to the person you are pitching.
  • Speeding-up decisions – First, you will seek to understand your clients’ decision-making process, then you’ll build support within their business and ultimately help them close the deal.
  • Strong negotiation – you will be dealing with professional negotiators
  • Social – you will enjoy spending time with clients at events, in meetings, and at lunches. You will utilise this time to build deeper commercial relationships. Your relationships will be built on the meaningful value you deliver, not just being liked.
  • Growth Mindset – ready to learn, coachable, and someone that values training & development.
  • Team Player – Probably the most important characteristic. We are big on TEAM and believe the star of the team is always the team.

Desired Experience

  • 3+ years of B2B events sales experience; an understanding of transactional events vs trade shows or conferences would be a significant plus.
  • The role would suit a high achieving B2B events sales professional looking to join an ambitious and growing business at the start of its next great leap forward.
  • Experience within the retail and property sector would be an advantage. If no experience, then an active interest in these sectors would be helpful.
  • Confidence and comfort when leading face to face business development meetings at client offices as well as onsite at events is essential.

Rewards and Benefits

  • Competitive salary.
  • Uncapped commission on sales, with additional bonuses for hitting total revenue targets.
  • 25 days holiday per annum plus approximately 4 additional days over Christmas when the office is closed.
  • Frequent team building and social activities
  • Private Pension Scheme (UK based employees).
