The Role

We are looking for a Proposals Coordinator to join our Civil Engineering team based in Bamber Bridge, Preston. This role will oversee the development of high-quality tenders, coordinating with various teams to draft, review, and refine documents to ensure compliance with industry standards. You will maintain client communication, manage proposal databases, and implement best practices to enhance competitiveness and secure new business opportunities. The role is essential in securing new business opportunities by presenting the company's capabilities and project approach effectively to potential clients.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 

  • Proposal Management: Oversee the preparation and timely submission of proposals for civil engineering projects.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with relevant teams from project managers, engineers, and marketing to gather necessary information for bid submissions. 
  • Document Preparation: Draft, edit, and review technical and non-technical proposal sections.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure proposals meet company standards and client requirements.
  • Market Research: Conduct research on clients, competitors, and market trends to inform strategies.
  • Follow-Up and Communication: Maintain communication with clients and internal teams, providing updates and addressing queries.
  • Database Management: Organise and maintain a database of proposal documents and templates.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices to enhance the proposal development process.
  • About You 

    The ideal candidate will have a background and or demonstrable experience of work winning. Experience of working in construction/civils sectors is desirable but not essential. A capable and confident communicator with the strongest attention to detail. A self-starter who can manage their own time, prioritise tasks and focus effort towards activities that will add value to our bid and clients. You will have a proactive and flexible approach to changing circumstances and the evolving needs of the business.

    Our ideal candidate will be: 

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts and project workflows.
  • Writing and Editing: Excellent skills in writing, editing, and proofreading for clear and compelling proposals.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple proposals, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and completeness in all proposal documents.
  • Research Skills: Conduct thorough research on clients, competitors, and industry trends.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Analytical Skills: Analyse complex information for strategic proposal development.
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum GCSEs grade 5 or higher in English and Maths.
  • Degree-level qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in a similar role is not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.
