The role:

A great opportunity for a Property Estates Executive/Surveyor has arisen to join the team at British Airways! You will be responsible for providing “expert” real estate property support for BA’s global occupations in airports and town offices across BA’s property portfolio.

What you’ll do:

  • To work with stakeholders and service providers, develop and implement real estate solutions in response to market conditions, critical lease events or emerging business objectives on a global basis. All solutions to provide the “a best value” solution for the business and the IAG Group.
  • To provide the leadership and management of outsourced professional service providers to enable the delivery of a cost effective and professional real estate services to BA.
  • Where required, be the Accountable Project Manager or team member for the delivery of real estate and/or relocation projects including defining any necessary prescribed Governance Roles iaw BA Standing Instructions.
  • In conjunction with service partners, provide a leadership role to the business areas advising them on all matters concerning the legality of occupation and relevant terms of the lease depending on the transaction being considered . acquisition, disposal, re-gear, etc to allow informed and timely decisions to be made on real stakeholders, Airport Operators, Local Authorities state transactions.
  • In conjunction with nominated service providers, provide leadership on all real estate matters effecting a property, including but not exclusively to business rating, local town planning approvals, net book values, insurance, and onerous lease provisions.
  • To work with the wider Real Estate team and Service Providers, to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, Airports and other Statutory Bodies

  • Proven skills in managing a team of external consultants.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills at all levels with professional credibility.
  • An analytical thinker with good understanding of BA’s business model and strategy, able to develop property solutions to support the property business objectives.
  • Able to work independently, taking initiative and responsibility for resolving problems.
  • Financial analysis to support the development of business cases.

  • Your experience:

  • An education to Degree level or equivalent experience, an appropriate property qualification or relevant experience.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (. RICS) desired.
  • Good understanding of airline operations and sound commercial awareness.
  • Experience of managing outsourced suppliers.
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally.
  • Strong understanding of property management and relevant legislation, . Landlord & Tenant Act 1954.
