We are currently looking for a Programme Coordinator to join our Business Development team and be responsible for managing partnering opportunities, executing partnership deals, and overseeing the delivery of partner projects with 3rd party commercial organisations. Our partnership programmes present a templated approach for the development of new commercial applications of the Nanopore platform and are intended to deliver high value revenue growth across multiple business areas in the near to long term.

The primary role of the Business Development Programme Coordinator is to support the coordination of day-to-day activities within the Business Development team. The postholder will act as a conduit for communication and co-ordination within the Business Development team and across other relevant teams in ONT to ensure effective and efficient functioning of partnership processes. The postholder will also be responsible for maintaining the structures and tools used by the Business Development team to deliver the various partnership programmes.

As the Programme Coordinator within the Business Development team, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a dashboard of prospective and ongoing partnership opportunities.
  • Acting as primary day-to-day contact for Business Development process management and cross-functional coordination.
  • Communicating partnership process updates to the wider organisation.
  • Co-ordinating internal and external meetings.
  • Actioning non-disclosure agreements through close collaboration with Business Development and Legal teams.
  • Providing regular updates to the Business Development team on the status and health of partnership programmes.
  • Monitoring team objectives and priorities 
  • Ensuring appropriate access to and management of 3rd party confidential information.
  • Preparing executive summaries of partnership programmes based on relevant criteria for critical decision-makers.
  • Enhancing alignment and visibility across business development, commercial and market facing teams (clinical, applied & population health), product management, development, marketing, apps, finance and legal depts to streamline the partnership programme workflow.
  • Any other duties as might be required within the remit and responsibilities of the post.

    What We’re Looking For…

    In addition to excellent educational credentials, you will have proven experience in a co-ordination or project management role within industry. In order to be effective in the role, the postholder is encouraged to develop a deep understanding of ONT’s technology and product portfolio and potential commercial applications thereof. Qualifications in a relevant scientific field and a background in the life sciences industry are therefore highly desirable.

    You'll hold knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:

  • A BSc or equivalent experience in a scientific discipline. 
  • Track record of sustained success building and managing stakeholder relationships in complex environments.
  • An ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation from executive management to individual team members.
  • Robust portfolio management practices.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Collaborative, team focused and agile attitude.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ideally, you'll also have:

  • In-depth knowledge of the genomics market including key players in applied and clinical markets.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, high growth company.
  • Experience working directly with entrepreneurs or in a start-up environment.
  • A track record of improving efficiency within existing processes and commercial frameworks.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems or equivalent.
  • Ability to create executive summaries and present to senior audience.
