A great opportunity for the role of Production Engineer / Senior Production Engineer has arisen within the Machine Shop at Triumph Motorcycles, the UK’s largest motorcycles manufacturer and global leading heritage brand.

Working as part of a team of engineers responsible for the introduction of new models into production, you will be based within our Machine Shop team and focused on Crankshaft production.

You will support day to day production overcoming any engineering issues that may arise.

In the development phases you will work with design for new model introduction, offering advice as to what can be practically achieved and highlighting any cost or cycle time implications of new proposals.

Leading up to volume production you will be responsible for prototype production builds, defining machining processes and component flow.

Process sheets and stage drawings are an integral part of the role being the foundation for Quality in production.

There is a focus on continuous improvement, specifically in cycle time but also including quality, tool life and energy consumption.

You will procure new machinery and equipment as well as designing bespoke component fixtures for use online.

Managing the procurement cycle for jigs and equipment is a key part of the role, whether this be through our in-house machining and additive manufacture facilities or our external partners.

Safety comes first and you will be responsible for ensuring machinery and processes are safe and will carry out risk assessments as required.

In the latter stages of implementation, you will train online staff and liaise with Project Management and quality to resolve outstanding issues being guided by a no-fault forward approach.

The role requires an adept communicator comfortable negotiating with other stakeholders at all levels of the business.
