About the Solution

Investment Risk Manager is a comprehensive multi-asset class factor-based risk management solution for buy-side organizations looking for a holistic and flexible platform to manage their risks more effectively. The solution covers the following areas:

• Market Risk

• Portfolio Construction & Optimization

• Liquidity Risk

The solution features a highly flexible and scalable technology stack allowing you easy access through various APIs (including excel, python and more) and fast integration into third-party systems .

About the role

We are looking to hire a Development Director to lead our Product Development team and accelerate the modernization efforts around our Investment Risk Manager solution (formerly APT).

What you will be doing

• Provide technical guidance and oversight to the development team and conduct code reviews.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and frameworks to enhance the capabilities and performance of the application.
• Ensure that the technical solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and compliant with FIS standards and best practices.
• Work closely with the internal stakeholders: Solution Management/Product Management, Client Services, Professional Services and Operations teams
• Oversee the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• Resolve critical issues and contribute to the business unit/area development.
• Contribution to the annual budget planning.
• Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities and recommending and implementing changes to methods.
• Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major clients.
• Provides inputs on technology direction to product management

What you bring

• Strong Java, C# or C++ skills and knowledge of best practices for code architecture, abstraction, and long-term maintenance 
• Proven background/experience in working with legacy code and support, preferably in Perl and other legacy languages 
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases 
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to understand complex logic and data flows and provide fixes and workaround solutions when dealing with Production issues
• Typically requires more than fifteen years related applications development experience with at least six years leadership responsibility for large applications development functions

Added Bonus if you have

• Background in Investment Risk, Asset management or general finance/quant finance knowledge. Specifically understanding of risk concepts (Factor models, Volatility/VaR, Betas)
• Understanding of statistical/mathematical concepts (PCA, Curve Bootstrapping, Regressions)
