About the Role

The Principal Consultant role at Talogy is performed by people who are leading, senior specialists in the talent management industry.

Using their extensive knowledge and experience, a Principal Consultant acts as a significant contributor, both externally to client work, and internally to strategies, solution and process design and mentorship across the organization.

The role contributes directly to both revenue and profit by delivering high impact, quality client solutions as efficiently as possible.

Principal Consultants also contribute to business development and work winning by supporting Sales by contributing significantly to proposals and RFP’s, and sales pitches.

They also contribute to marketing by talking at events and webinars and writing content for blogs and publications.

Principal Consultants are expected to work core hours and days relevant for their region but will need to be flexible when required to work outside of normal hours for client projects.

Day-to-day, the role can be performed remotely, with the expectation of travel for on-site client work, events, meetings, and workshops.

Role Responsibilities

The Principal Consultant role is primarily responsible for:

  • Playing a lead role in the scoping, design, delivery, and evaluation of our assessment solutions consultancy services to clients, including (but not limited to) the following examples:
  • Coordinating and delivering job analyses to inform talent assessment initiatives.
  • End-to-end implementation of high-touch assessment solutions, e.g. interviewing, workplace simulations, assessment centres, deep-dive Executive-level assessments, etc.
  • Client accreditation training for Talogy products.
  • Organizational-level initiatives, e.g. competency framework design, redundancy and restructuring projects, DEI and cultural impact initiatives, etc.
  • Designing other bespoke talent management solutions as required.
  • Acting as lead Consultant for large client projects and building strong relationships with key clients.
  • Proactively partnering with colleagues in Sales teams and leading on business development activities e.g. building relationships with prospective clients, advising around the viability and practical limitations of solutions, growing revenue with existing client accounts, etc.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in Client Experience to support ongoing client interactions, e.g. general project management activities, handling client queries, etc.
  • Driving and supporting with development of Consulting solutions.
  • Making regular contributions to support the Marketing group with general industry activities, e.g. writing content for blogs, participating in webinars, attending conferences and events, etc.
  • Contributing to strategic discussions on regional market directions and internal processes and standards.
  • Supporting the development of Consultants and Senior Consultants through mentorship.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Education to degree or Master’s degree level in organizational/business psychology or equivalent field.
  • Strong knowledge of current theory and contemporary approaches in talent assessment.
  • Depth of experience in the talent management or HR consultancy industry or in- house roles in HR.
  • Specialist expertise in leadership assessment.
  • Strong track record of collaborating effectively with others, managing projects, and creating materials for clients and colleagues.
  • Experience in supporting business development activities and client relationship management.
  • Effective understanding of talent management products on the market, and willingness to learn about Talogy’s broad range of solution sets.
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Focused, highly proactive and self-motivated individual who has a track record of designing and delivering impactful assessment solutions across a range of organisations.
  • Strategic, commercial thinker who thinks broadly around solutions to client talent challenges and who can learn new skills and information quickly.
  • Commercially driven, with experience in growing accounts as well as work winning. Comfortable networking and skilled at writing proposals and presenting at sales pitches.
  • Works collaboratively and effectively with others by building strong working relationships.
  • Strong team player, able to work with a wide range of people.
  • Strong communication skills combining active listening, questioning and ability to convey complex ideas and information clearly. Presents as highly credible.
  • Resilient and resourceful and able to maintain a calm approach when under pressure from workload or challenging clients.
