Vacancy: Principal Analyst (R&D) Location: Stockton-on-Tees Job Family: R&D As the Principal Analyst you will Provide analytical support for new technology developments encompassing new method development across a range of Scientific analytical techniques as well as method optimisation of existing methods.You will also support existing analytical needs across Teesside, helping to improve quality of data produced through helping to implement better procedures and rolling out required training to support this.As part of this role, You will be required to carry out overseas commissioning assignments supporting the implementation of analytical methods at licensed plants globally. This could be based at any JM Licensed plant across the globe and will typically be between 8 - 12 weeks in length, once per year .   • Ensures compliance with EHS standards and actively identifies opportunities for improvement. Generates safety documentation related to their work.
  • Will need to participate in over-seas commissioning assignments as part of a team to support commercial start-up of licensed plants (typically 8-12 weeks), typically once per year.
  • Operation and understanding of GC techniques and sampling techniques.
  • Ability to develop bespoke analytical methods.
  • Advanced maintenance/troubleshooting support for on-site GC equipment.
  • Ability to rigorously review and approve documentation provided to clients to define their analytical requirements.
  • Develop analysis systems for new build testing rigs.
  • Provide support to Projects/ Process departments as analytical expert for proposals and licenses.
  • Proactively looks to build deep technical expertise in a range of analytical techniques, attending suitable training courses where appropriate.
  • To carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
Requirements for the role:
  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree in physical sciences or equivalent industrial experience
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, specifically SharePoint, Word and Excel
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
  • Experience of Scientific analytical techniques especially extensive GC knowledge
