Yes, then keep on reading as we may have an exciting role for you. We have an opportunity to join Mencap’s Policy and Public affairs team as a Policy Specialist, leading our policy and influencing work around social care funding and reform in England.This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) permanent role. We are flexible with where you are based and work from, there will be occasional travel to London for team meetings and training when required. What will your day look like as a Policy Specialist?You will work within a highly effective and dedicated policy and public affairs team who are focussed on the Westminster government and Whitehall, as well as with colleagues across the organisation as part of our agile ways of working to achieve our strategic objectives. You will work closely with senior leaders within Mencap, supporting their engagement with Ministers and officials, as well as with key cross sector coalitions we are part of, such as the Care and Support Alliance and National Care Forum.Do you have the skills to be our Policy Specialist?experience of working on public policy issues, particularly social careknowledge of issues affecting people with a learning disability and their familiessomeone who is confident in working with and engaging a wide variety of people, with the ability to be highly inclusivebe able to analyse complex information, negotiate and influenceYou can view full  details of experience and skills required on the attached job description.
