Job Introduction BBC Studios Audio Bristol make popular format shows including Good Bad Billionaire, Evil Genius, Ramblings, You're Dead to Me and Great Lives. We aim to make habit building shows that keep listeners coming back for more. We're part of BBC Studios, the world renowned content provider of both TV and Audio. We are looking for a producer to work with the Bristol Formats team. The team is based in Bridgewater House, Bristol, but works with people all over the country. We're looking for someone to produce episodes of Good Bad Billionaire and to work across some of the other output, as well as working on the development of new shows. Main Responsibilities The ideal candidate will be an avid consumer and skilled producer of popular factual entertainment podcasts; with more than 3 years' experience working on format shows. They will have real storytelling ability, be comfortable structuring shows and writing scripts, and be capable of dealing with editorially complex material. They will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the BBC's legal and journalistic standards or equivalent. They will be able to manage an 'as live' studio and they will be able to edit the audio that comes out of it to a high standard. They will be a strong team player who is comfortable producing both new and established on-mic talent to create their best work for major platforms and broadcasters.   • Strong producing skills: including briefing on-mic talent, scripting, studio-producing, and meeting edit deadlines
  • Experience producing podcast formats for pilot and series
  • Experience delivering for major platforms and broadcasters
  • Demonstrable understanding of the global podcast audience
  • Record of being organised and responsive in fast paced environments. Demonstrating strong planning skills and managing conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
  • An enthusiasm for the genre - actively listening to popular culture podcasts
  • Demonstrable experience of working with high profile on-mic talent
  • A strong team player who is happy working collaboratively
  • Considerable experience of delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • Experience of monitoring and managing health & safety on a production.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of end-to-end multi-platform production with a level of technical understanding to enable efficient production of content.
  • Effective project management skills and proven experience of delivering projects.
  • Able to advise on production systems and support the implementation of new technologies on productions.
  • Able to manage interpersonal relationships effectively and work within a diverse team.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective relations with a wide range of freelance contacts and suppliers.
  • Able to interpret an editorial brief, explain commissioning requirements and suggest ideas for maximising the value from productions to ensure resources and editorial aspirations are aligned.
  • Able to proactively devise new ideas for working more efficiently.
  • Demonstrates team leadership skills with the ability to direct, develop and motivate teams across a range of output.
