Job Description



We're looking for a People Manager to help our team grow and develop in a mindful way, perpetuate and expand on our values, and build a brilliant workplace culture.

This person will report into Holly Clarke, CMO, but have direct relationships with the wider leadership team and managers.

Your role

  • Support hiring managers with recruiting: write and benchmark superb job descriptions, source candidates, run interviews and train interviewers and ensure diverse, high quality applicant pipelines.

  • Own onboarding: logistics, programming, training, probation check-in timelines and onboarding surveys.

  • Own team communication management, working with leadership to define the ways we use Slack, email, Notion and more, with great internal documentation.

  • Manage our routines and events on- and offline including office liaison.

  • Alongside leadership and with input from the wider team, manage training, learning and wellness resources including diversity and inclusion, and team benefits.

  • Support managers with promotion timelines, quarterly reviews, OKRs, salary reviews, hiring and manager training.

  • Work with marketing to develop our employer branding, from managing Byway’s presence on job sites to entering awards.

Qualifications



What we’re looking for

  • A passion for our mission and growing businesses with great eNPS with a brilliant written and verbal communication style.

  • Fiscal accountability and demonstrated ability to prioritise resources based on business case and need.

  • Recruitment and ATS management experience.

  • Good working knowledge of employment legislation in the UK.

  • Significant drive to listen, understand and empathise with the needs of all employees, especially underrepresented groups.

  • Background in developing training resources for a wide range of audiences, especially junior team members.

  • Experience supporting teams and developing great working relationships in a hybrid remote environment.

What would be great (but isn’t required)

  • Background in start-up/scale ups

  • HR training/expertise

  • Experience with European and US recruitment



Additional Information



What we offer

  • £35-42k salary, depending on experience

  • Remote-first, flexible working

    • 80 hours whenever: flexi-working across two week periods

    • 20 days wherever: work when you like and where you like for most of the month

    • 2 days together: join us in London two days each month including our monthly social

    • A funded day a week in a co-working space

The process

If we like your application, we’ll invite you to an initial 30 minute call with Holly, our CMO.

After that, we have a take-home task for you to complete and send back, and if that goes well, a detailed competency interview with a People leader from one of our investors, Founders Factory, and Cat, CEO.

The final stage is a longer interview designed to help us get to know you as a person, with Holly, CMO, and Rich, CTO. 

We offer flexible scheduling for our multi-stage interview process and are open to adjustments based on candidate needs.
