Connex Education is partnering with a thriving secondary school in Bolton, Greater Manchester, to appoint an ambitious Pastoral Manager for the new academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive staff team dedicated to easing the transition of incoming Year 7 pupils into secondary education.

Roles and responsibilities:

As a Pastoral Manager, you will mentor and support Year 7 pupils as they transition from primary to secondary education. Your role will involve:

- Supporting teaching and learning in class and smaller groups throughout the school day.

- Working across a range of subjects targeted for the Year 7 cohort.

- Assisting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL), Special Educational Needs (SEN), or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

-You will work closely with the Head of Year and Assistant Headteacher to ensure a smooth transition for the pupils.

Essential requirements:

- Experience working with children within an education setting or similar.

- Previous experience working with SEN is highly advantageous.

- Valid Level 1, 2, or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.

- Current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain a new one.
