OPERATIONS MANAGER
Salary: £47,000 - £50,000 per annum
Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week (Mon - Fri)

The PFI contract comprises schools and health buildings across the country and employs over 400 staff. This role would be based in the Leicester Schools PFI, covering four schools where G4S FM provides cleaning, mechanical and electrical systems, premises management and full Lifecycle.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our friendly team working in Leicester. As the Operations Manager there will be a zero tolerance to harm you will be responsible for the safe operational delivery of all FM services to the portfolio of schools within the Leicester Schools contract and ensuring that the service is delivered in accordance with all contracted standards and legislation, company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with all the G4S FM functions on the contract, in particular the Hard and Soft FM Contract Operations team to influence and deliver agreed contract goals and objectives
- Has a strong working relationship with the Account Manager and would be expected to deputise in the absence of, or as and when, required/directed by the Account Manager
- Support the continuous improvement of the Hard and Soft operations working collaboratively with the Facilities Management team(s).
- To ensure the FM service provision for the Leicester contract is in line with the contractual SLAs, KPIs and other relevant performance parameters, such that no fiscal deductions result from the application of the contractual payment application
- Ensure the integration of M&E and Soft Services to provide a high level of customer satisfaction
- Regular engagement with the operational team taking on board feedback from the team and actively responding to feedback
- Liaise with the project team upon completion of any works to ensure smooth transition into business-as-usual activity
- Produce timely and accurate management reporting to support the operational managers, Business Partners and Client reporting requirements
- A sound understanding of FM and Commercial Operations is essential
- Oversee recruitment with direct reports to ensure recruitment remains a focus and that positions are recruited for with a focus on the right people
- Manage labour costs (including temporary employees and overtime) to budget and ensure colleagues work the correct number of hours
- Direct relationship with the Helpdesk and utilising data from CAFM, ensure PPMs and reactive works are completed on time and to the required contractual standards
- Ensure that all areas, machinery, tools, stock and materials storage areas are kept in a clean and tidy state, supported by relevant audits, including plant rooms
- Lead Health and Safety meetings with direct reports. Identifying Health and Safety incidents and or concerns.
- Undertake Health and Safety audits and ensure your direct reports undertake the audits per schedule
- Monitor and control agreed budgets and review with the Contract Management team at monthly meetings
- Ensure that safeguarding and emergency procedures are current and that all staff and contractors are aware of them and all contractors undertake a site induction
- Provide robust management of Purchase Orders and ensure all Purchase Orders are raised in a timely manner
- Promoting and developing the culture of responsiveness, ownership and customer care amongst all contract staff.
- Manage and lead supply chain review meetings to ensure a good level of service delivery
- Act as Deputy Responsible Person for Legionella
- Support within the same capacity on other G4S contracts where applicable
The Ideal Candidate:
Essential
- Strong FM background
- Project planning experience
- Experienced in a wide range of building projects
- Commercial acumen
- Experience of PFI contracts
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Degree educated or equivalent
Desirable
- CDM qualified
- Legal knowledge of contract forms
- A high standard of written presentational skills
- FM/Building/Construction background
- Demonstrable commercial technical knowledge and experience
- Mechanical & Electrical working knowledge
