Our partner in a leader in the critical component manufacturing industry, with a strong future orderbook delivering a period of organic growth.

Position Overview: Our partner is seeking an engaging and analytical Operations Director to oversee and elevate its operational activities. The successful candidate will be entrusted with managing a division with circa £50 million revenue and around 200 skilled professionals, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the highest standards of operational, financial and technical performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Operations Director will lead, motivate, and manage a team of 200 employees, implementing modern people management strategies to boost engagement and performance.
  • They will be responsible for talent development, mentoring team members, and ensuring a strong succession plan is in place.
  • This role involves overseeing the financial aspects of the operations division, including planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  • The Operations Director will ensure stringent financial controls are maintained to meet and exceed financial targets, providing detailed analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • The Operations Director will drive continuous improvement initiatives, employing best practices in manufacturing processes and lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • They will monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify progress and areas for improvement.
  • A deep understanding of the technical aspects of precision manufacturing is essential for this role.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A proven track record in an operations leadership role within a manufacturing environment, particularly in the critical components sector.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in financial controls, budgeting, and reporting.
