Apex Talent Recruitment is hiring for a real estate company based in London, known for its dedication to excellence and commitment to customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Director to join their team. As the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the company by ensuring efficient and effective day-to-day operations.

In this dynamic and challenging role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all operational functions within the organization. You will work closely with the senior management team to develop and implement strategies that drive operational excellence, improve efficiencies, and ensure proper maintenance and resourcing of their multiple sites. The Operations Director will also be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements, supporting the managers, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all operational functions within the organization, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set operational goals and objectives, and track progress towards achieving them.
  • Identify and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet business objectives and optimize performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as contractors, suppliers, and customers.
  • Lead and motivate a team of professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve operational objectives.
  • Coach and nurture all site managers, with regular meetings and touch points, whilst leading and inspiring the teams to deliver a great service to clients and staff, with unity and cohesion and enhancing the culture of team spirit
  • To ensure the business is constantly striving to be well-coordinated and productive by ensuring operational procedures are concise, practical and in line with company values
  • Work closely with sales and finance department, to pursue a more enhanced working relationship with operations, with regular meetings and points of communication
  • Resource management across all sites
  • Being key part of a reactive ‘quick response’ team in the event of emergencies (buildings, client issues, staff concerns etc.) with a pro-active approach, applying urgency, empathy, professionalism and decisiveness, whilst using clear and effective communication, and ensuring these learnings are never lost
  • Keeping a handle on P&L expenditure across all sites, and addressing inconsistencies
  • Knowledgeable in basic HR and ER processes and overseeing aspects of this in relation to the operational teams by ensuring team are aware of company HR policies, with support of external advisors – ensuring this also runs with legality and conformity to established regulations
  • Maintaining and updating all Health and Safety regulations and policies to ensure proper legal compliance of all operational buildings and records are maintained
  • Undertaking regular building checks to ensure that the centres are operating efficiently and carrying out detailed walk around with site managers to continually identify areas of improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the real estate industry.
  • Proven track record of success in managing and improving operational processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Personable individual with a willing and positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly adaptable – they will wear many hats in this role
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities with a results-oriented mindset
  • Happy and comfortable of delving into the detail of situations as they occur
  • Highly organised with a strong ability to self-motivate and prioritise workload effectively
  • Aptitude to build strong working relationships at various levels of the business, acting as a conduit between departments as required
  • Supportive management style with empathetic and affable nature to get the best out of their people, always putting the team first
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills given the extent they will be interacting with others
