About the role
Your aim as our Money Advisor is to maximise the benefits entitlement of existing and prospective customers.
Providing and maintaining an invaluable Welfare Rights service, you will support customers with budgeting, reducing their rent arrears, and accessing specialised support services as required.
You will pro-actively manage customer contact to complete welfare benefit assessments, via inbound and outbound calls, text messages, other digital channels, or face-to-face services, for identified customers, and progress applications, revisions and appeals on behalf of the customer.
You will assess, analyse, and solve complex issues in the delivery of Welfare Rights and prepare and present cases to the appropriate statutory bodies, tribunals, and courts where appropriate.
You will work closely with our Income Collection team to minimise arrears, particularly due to affordability and budgeting issues which can include no take up of benefits, overpayments and sanctions and focus on priority debts, and identify and refer appropriate cases on to specialist providers such as debt counsellors as well as internal support services.
About you
Were looking for an experienced Welfare Rights / Money Adviser someone who has comprehensive knowledge of welfare benefits, financial inclusion, and the appeals process.
Youll have a strong customer focus, excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly, extracting relevant information.
Youll have a high degree of empathy and be able to develop and maintain relationships with key partners.
A Level 3 qualification in Advice and Guidance is desirable, but not essential.
This role requires a full driving licence and access to a vehicle which is insured for business use.
