Central Employment are delighted to be working with a leading and established Creative Agency, as they look for a talented Mid-weight Designer.

Due to the collaborative working environment, this role would be FT studio based, Newcastle upon Tyne.

£30,000-£35,000 DOE & quality of portfolio.

Mid-weight Designer job profile:

This is a varied role allowing you to flex your creative skills across branding, digital design, UX and Print campaigns.You’ll need a minimum of 3 years of creative design experience and be able to lead on all areas of design from research and discovery to delivering high quality concepts and visuals.

Responsibilities

  • Working independently and as part of a team to develop and implement creative concepts.
  • Lead and participate in creating and developing brand identities and website designs.
  • Create design systems and comprehensive guidelines to maintain consistency in branding across all platforms and materials.
  • Take ownership to deliver effective communications, utilising brand guidelines to deliver engaging design and marketing collateral.
  • Conceptualise and design user-friendly, responsive websites that deliver outstanding user experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their objectives and translate them into compelling designs.
  • Conduct research on design trends, industry best practices, and client preferences.
  • Support the production process, including preparing files for print or web publication.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Take ownership of tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends to ensure that our design solutions are innovative and effective.

Requirements

  • 3 years + experience in a design role, ideally within an agency setting
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
  • A high-quality portfolio showcasing skills, creativity and a fantastic understanding of core design principles, typography, and colour theory.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • A thorough understanding of brand values, strategy, messaging, and approach to visual communication
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to take constructive feedback and incorporate it into your work.
