Mechanical Engineering Team Lead in Dumbarton

In this role, you and your team will be responsible for developing new products and supporting our existing product portfolio.This is a hands-on role, so as well as acting as line manager to the mechanical engineering team, leading and mentoring them to develop a culture of continuous improvement. You will also be actively involved in delivering projects, with involvement at all stages of the product development process from concept to manufacturing, collaborating with Project Managers, Functional Managers and Lead Engineers.Why Aggreko? Here are some of the perks and rewards. * A competitive salary and benefits package (including but not limited to pension plan, bonus scheme, and Life Assurance) * Generous holiday entitlement, with option to ‘buy’ or ‘sell ‘ * A focus on continued personal development * Access to 24/7 online/telephone GP service * Discounts & perks: Cycle to Work scheme - Paid time off work for volunteering in the community. * Access to our Employee Assistance Programme, which helps promote and support a healthy lifestyle.What you’ll do: * Lead the mechanical engineering team, providing mentorship and developing both capability and capacity. * Develop new and existing products using established engineering principles. * OEM/ Supplier relationship management: Work closely with our suppliers on component selection * Collaboration with lead engineers and project managers to set priorities, assign tasks and effectively allocating resources per program and project requirements. * Support/Lead design reviews in accordance with Aggreko design process. * Create technical specifications, functional design specs and test procedures for mechanical systems. * Support the improvement of HSE performance via product design and operational guidance, ensuring safety is given top priority.You’ll have the following skills and experience: * Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering with relevant industry experience in design of power generators, industrial machines or engines. * Demonstrable experience in a people leader or team leader role * Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems gained through equipment design experience with power generation equipment, engines, or related technologies * High level of technical communication (verbal and written) * Highly computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft office
