Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with proven experience in nuclear/defence or a highly regulated industry?Are you experienced in the design and substantiation of mechanical plant and equipment?Do you have previous knowledge of technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent?If the answer is yes, we would love to hear from you so please read on for further information and get in touch now to avoid missing out! The opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team where you can gain some great experience within the Nuclear industry, supporting their clients based at stations or facilities for periods of time.As the Mechanical Engineer you will join our clients New Nuclear Power Business with opportunities supporting their key client’s UK nuclear fleet through a business transformation, and by supporting new small modular reactor developers.You will need a willingness to travel and potentially be based away from home during the working week will be required.  At times, there will also be the facility to work from one of our clients offices or from home dependent on client and project requirements. You will work as part of a client focused multi-disciplinary engineering team.Your duties and responsibilities will beYou will be familiar with the requirements of working in a regulated environment providing RE support and as an employee of our client, you will deliver work to high HSSE standards in compliance to HSSE regulations. Responsibilities will include:Producing detailed design drawings, calculations, design control plans, validation & verification plans, designers risk assessments, quality plans.Production of or contribution to substantiation reports, operating and maintenance operating procedures in line with manufacturing specifications, equipment recovery plans, test procedures and test reports.Preparing technical solutions to meet customer requirements and initial concepts to provide optimal project solutions with current best practice and to the relevant standards and procedures.Supporting design reviews and HAZOPs.Maintaining and developing associated client relationships.You will have the following QualificationsDegree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.Chartered or Incorporated member of IMechE or equivalent or desire to work towards chartership.You will have the following Skills & ExperienceExperience of design assurance and ability to apply standards and regulations in one or more of the following technical disciplines would be preferable:Cranes/Lifting equipment.HVAC.Pipework (designed to ASME code).Rotating plant.Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams.Get in touch now If you’re seeking a new challenge, where you will use your mechanical expertise to drive the development of key projects, if you’re passionate about maintaining and developing client relationships then this could be the role for you so apply now or contact Mark Wilkins via LinkedIn. Millbank Holdings Ltd is an equal opportunities employer and respects diversity.
