Your role as Management Accountant

As Management Accountant you shall hold responsibilities across Group for financial operations, monthly management accounts and quarterly VAT returns. Reporting to the group FC you shall supervise and develop the transactional activity within a small team to include accounts receivable, accounts payable as well as requirements across cash management and bank transactions. As Management Accountant you shall take ownership of key elements of each month end reporting cycle and the preparation of annual statutory accounts for entities within the group.

The team works closely with the wider finance team and management to support and provide information for commercial insight into the business. Being a deadline driven role, the work is fast paced, varied, and challenging, providing plenty of opportunity to develop knowledge and skills, creatively solve problems and support the business in achieving its goals.

Main role duties:

· Ensure accurate reconciliation of postings from Group operating systems to ledger, with liaison as appropriate with other departments as required.
· Managing a small team of Group Accounts Assistants.
· Mentoring and reviewing work of the Group Accounts Assistants across accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring accurate postings made to relevant entity ledger, in accordance with Group accounting policies
· Ensure accurate reconciliation of allocated bank accounts in accordance with Group accounting policies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
· Monthly journal postings and ownership of monthly ledger reconciliations process
· Daily banking requirements, review and approval of payments
· Working with Divisional Financial Controller to develop improvements to financial processes and controls framework.
· Preparation of documentation of financial processes and controls framework.
· Liaison with external contacts as required, e.g. suppliers, funder auditors
· Preparation of Group management accounts packs for review, including active involvement in month end review meetings with Group Financial Controller and Finance Director
· Overhead analysis and variance to budget analysis
· Preparation of Group VAT returns
· Assist Divisional Financial Controller in preparation of relevant entity statutory accounts
· Preparation of information for auditors and corporation tax advisors as required

Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:

To be considered for this role you shall have experience in a fast paced environment, and in a similar role. ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, or finalist, you shall be proficient in Microsoft Excel with a strong eye for detail and accuracy. A strong communicator who works well within a team, you shall also have had experience of stakeholders engagement, and have has responsibility developing juniors in a finance team.
