Wide ranging support and interesting projects

As IT Support Engineer at Thermotraffic your core task is to perform essential operational support.

At the same time, you play a central role in current and future projects designed to further enhance our IT excellence.

You will join an IT team that consists of five people at our headquarters in Rotterdam, and one person in the UK.

By doubling our IT capacity in the UK you will assure better response times while performing the following key tasks:

• Act as the first point of contact for IT related issues via the Service Desk via phone, email or in-person requests;
• Maintain the ticketing system, ensuring that calls have been logged and actioned (including escalations to senior members of the team);
• Process new users and leavers;
• Install and troubleshoot both software and hardware (printers etc);
• Password resets and unlocking accounts.

At all times you maintain in close contact with the other UK team member and, when necessary, the team in Rotterdam.

Although the role is based at our Brierley Hill site, you will visit our other UK sites as and when necessary.

To apply for the position of IT Support Engineer you should have a wide range of basic IT knowledge.

You also possess an understanding of how to work within a Service Desk environment, along with the written and verbal interpersonal skills necessary to explain technical terms and processes to non-technical users, politely and patiently.

The more formal requirements are:

• At least two or three years of experience in a similar IT support role, ideally within a logistics environment;
• Experience of application and mobile device management systems such as Apple Business Manager/Samsung Knox;
• Knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server;
• An understanding of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft InTune, Sharepoint;
• Basic understanding of LAN / WLAN / WAN / WiFi;
• Experience of WMS is a plus, as is knowledge of RF equipment;
• Valid driver’s license.
