Finatal is currently working with a financial services company who was previously backed by a tier-1 private equity firm before being bought out by a global financial services company. Currently, they are navigating a challenging audit period and require a highly skilled Technical Accountant to join their team.

Role Overview:

The role will report directly to Head of Finance Operations and involve active management of stakeholders including the statutory accounts outsource providers and external auditors. The Technical Accountant will play a critical role in addressing audit issues You will provide expert technical accounting support, manage the audit process, and implement robust financial controls and procedures. This role demands a highly experienced accountant with a strong background in financial services and or, a highly regulated environment. Experience with SPV accounting is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and update where necessary the statutory accounts for all entities in line with IFRS, FRS 101 or 102 as required.
• Agree templates for each type of statutory accounts with the external outsource providers and the external auditors
• Actively manage internal and external stakeholders who provide disclosure information for the relevant statutory accounts
• Provide financial and non-financial information to the outsource providers in the prescribed format and by specified deadlines
• Resolve queries with external auditors relating to the statutory accounts on a timely basis

Qualifications:

• Accounting qualified. ACA/ACCA preferred.
• Experience in working within a highly regulated environment
• Prior experience in SPV accounting is desirable.
• Financial services experience is highly desirable
