Interim Accountant Needed - Start within the next 2 weeks!

Our client, a collection of 10 companies with a complex inter-company accounting relationship, is looking for an Interim Accountant to join their dynamic team.

Location: North Bristol (2 days in the office, 3 from home)
Duration: 3-4 months
Rate: £275pd-£325pd (via Umbrella)

Role Overview: This interim assignment supports the business during the recruitment of permanent staff. The role requires a strong Accountant who can manage the P&L and Balance Sheet, engage with auditors, and oversee monthly management accounts. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Director, support commercial aspects of the role, and integrate with the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Management Accounts: Oversee and produce monthly management accounts focusing on the P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Audit: Engage with auditors and manage statutory accounts.Handle mid-audit tasks and ensure audit readiness.
  • Inter-company Accounting: Manage and understand complex inter-company transactions.Ensure accurate and timely inter-company reconciliations.
  • Systems Management: Utilise in-house systems for accounting and financial reporting.
  • Team Support: Assist the Finance Director.Help recruit and onboard a Finance Assistant and a Financial Accountant.
  • Business Partnering: Partner with non-finance departments to support business operations.Provide financial insights and commercial support to the wider business.

    • Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified by experience or Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in financial accounting and audit.
  • Proven ability to manage P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Experience with inter-company accounting and transactions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to understand business needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a similar interim role would be advantageous.
