The City Recruiter is recruiting on behalf of their client, a leading law firm in Manchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, driven, and talented HR professional to join an established legal services organisation and continue to develop their current HR practices.
This leading law firm is one of the top providers of legal services in the North West. Their teams of varied legal expertise specialize in assisting clients with personal, criminal, and serious injuries and sexual assault claims. They currently have a headcount of approximately 50 staff, with strong plans to grow in the upcoming months.
This is a stand-alone generalist role with varied responsibilities. You will be the first point of contact for all HR-related queries, working closely with the Company Directors and the Heads of all departments. The firm currently owns a number of organisations, all of which come under your remit for HR services.
The successful candidate will:
- Work closely with all staff and stakeholders to provide proactive and effective HR guidance that is legally compliant.
- Lead all employee relations matters following company guidelines and processes. This includes leading investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances by providing advice throughout and supporting & note-taking during the meetings.
- Be responsible for all HR administration, completed to an exceptional standard.
- Manage the recruitment, induction, and onboarding process for all new starters and work closely with managers to find the ideal candidates.
- Absence monitoring and management.
- Liaise with department managers to resolve performance-related issues.
- Maintain policy and services currently in place with the ability to review and update as required.
- Create new policies when appropriate.
- Ability to analyse company data and provide recommendations to improve or amend processes.
- Coach line managers to improve upon people management skills.
- Lead all colleague recognition, reward, and engagement initiatives.
Essential:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working at HR Advisor level or above in a professional environment.
- HR CIPD qualification Level 3 (Level 5 or 7 preferred).
- Confident in managing own caseload, making own decisions, and working autonomously.
- Strong employment law knowledge.
- Experience in coaching and development.
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Discreet and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organisation, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
