Venn Group are currently working with an organisation in Cambridge to recruit a HR Officer. This is a permanent part time vacancy of 27 hours per week.

The role works with the HR Team and will have responsibility for assisting line managers with recruitment, drafting employment contracts and dealing with first line HR queries.

Salary: £23,378 per annum (£31,385 FTE)

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist with crafting job descriptions and managing the interview process.
  • Support line managers with HR-related tasks and provide candidate feedback.
  • Draft various employment documents and handle employment offers.
  • Advise on employee relations and participate in formal hearings.
  • Manage payroll documentation, including salary benchmarking and DBS checks.
  • Address contract amendments, leave entitlements, and general HR inquiries.
  • Coordinate staff training sessions and maintain training records.
  • Oversee end-of-employment procedures and fulfill reference requests.
  • Contribute to committee reports regarding staff changes and updates.
  • Ensure HR operations comply with employment laws and standards.
  • Criteria:

  • Experience of working within HR
  • CIPD qualification or working through one
  • Knowledge of employment law
  • Experience of preparing contracts and calculations such as annual leave
  • Knowledge of working time legislation and case employment rights
