HR Director - EMEA

Permanent, Full Time

Glasgow, Hybrid Working

Basic salary £90k + car allowance + additional benefits

Iconic Resourcing HR are working with an employee-owned business who are a global leader in providing engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction services across various sectors such as energy, water, telecommunications, and government. With company culture at the heart of who they are and what they do, we are delighted to be working with an organisation who holds themselves accountable to high standards, as they recruit an HR Director who will be responsible for the development and execution of HR plans for Europe, Middle East and Africa in achievements of business objectives. Key responsibilities include:

Strategic HR Leadership :

  • Regional HR Support: Actively supports HR functions across multiple countries within the EMEA region, ensuring alignment with global HR strategies and compliance with local regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Leads and manages a team of HR Partners/Generalists across the EMEA region, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Policy Development: Establishes and implements new HR policies and procedures in new and existing countries, ensuring compliance with local laws and alignment with global HR programs.
  • Strategic Planning: Develops and implements people-focused strategies and goals to support the regional growth objectives of the organisation.

HR Functional Areas :

  • Workforce Planning: Actively participates in planning workforce size and skill mix to meet business needs.
  • Training and Development: Develops and implements training programs to enhance employee skills and support career development.
  • Succession Planning: Identifies and develops succession plans to ensure leadership continuity.
  • Work and Organisation Design: Designs and optimises work structures and organisational models to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Performance Management: Implements performance management systems to align with organisational goals and drive employee performance.
  • Culture Development: Assesses and develops the organisational culture to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Employee Relations and Coaching: Manages employee relations, provides coaching to managers and employees, and resolves conflicts effectively.
  • Compensation Administration: Oversees compensation programs to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.

Business Alignment :

  • Strategic Translation: Interprets and translates business strategies into human and organisational initiatives.
  • Goal Identification: Identifies critical HR goals and success factors for the division and develops related actions.
  • Partnership with Management: Cultivates a partnering relationship with division management and professionals, maintaining an HR perspective while providing input and advice. Engages proactively in business discussions and establishes open and trusting relationships with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have extensive HR management experience, including regional HR leadership roles within the EMEA region. This individual will possess strong leadership and team management skills, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. They will have a knowledge and understanding of EMEA labour laws and HR best practices, demonstrating strategic thinking and the ability to translate business needs into effective HR initiatives. You will also be able to exhibit high cultural sensitivity and the capability to work effectively in diverse cultural environments. You will be prepared to travel within the EMEA region as necessary to support regional HR activities and initiatives.

Experience in shaping organisational culture and with a background in construction, engineering, or manufacturing is preferred. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running, managing demands with a detail-oriented approach. They will be innovative, able to set up solutions, and bring an exciting, fun, and growth-oriented attitude to the role. This person will have a strong appetite for growth, both personally and for the organisation, driving initiatives that support and enhance regional and global HR objectives.
