Community Support Service – Tier 2 (CAS-2): Nacro's Community Support Service commissioned by the Ministry of Justice, provides vital accommodation and support alternatives to custody.

Our team offers flexible, holistic support to residents, helping them secure stable housing post-placement.

This role is an excellent gateway to criminal justice and housing professions.

Job DescriptionAbout the Role: As a Housing Support Worker with Nacro in Manchester, you'll play a crucial role in providing essential support to residents within our Community Accommodation Service – Tier 2 (CAS-2).

You'll be part of a dedicated team committed to empowering individuals to find and maintain stable accommodation, reducing their risk of reoffending and supporting their reintegration into society.

Key Responsibilities:· Develop and implement effective support and safety plans for residents, collaborating with specialist agencies as needed.

· Ensure properties are maintained, furnished, and equipped to provide a safe and comfortable living environment.

· Support residents in understanding their responsibilities to maintain their CAS-2 placement and prepare for future accommodation.

· Empower and motivate residents to identify and achieve their desired outcomes, fostering independence and self-reliance.

· Collaborate with residents to develop comprehensive move-on plans, identifying realistic options for their future housing needs.

Key Skills, Experience and Knowledge· Understanding and Commitment to the Nacro’s Values.

· Knowledge of the issues affecting people in contact with the Criminal Justice System and/or people experiencing homelessness.

· Ability to develop person centred support and move on planning.

· Understanding of safeguarding.

· Ability to work with vulnerable adults with complex needs (such as substance misuse, physical health, mental health, seeking employment and housing support).

· Flexibility to travel within your allocated patch for training and team meetings and be flexible to cover other local patches as required.

These will be completed as part of the Pre-Employment Screening process.

This role also requires a Prison Clearance
